When the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) T20 World Cup 2026 begins on February 7, cricket fans will focus on Sri Lanka and India.

The 10th edition of the competition, which will consist of 54 games, will end on March 8.

What you need know about the schedule and format of the 2026 T20 World Cup is as follows:

What’s the format of the T20 World Cup 2026?

Two group-based rounds and a knockout round with the semifinals and final will make up the competition.

Each of the four groups’ top two teams will advance to the Super 8 stage, where they will be split into two groups of four teams each.

The two Super 8 teams that do the best will advance to the semifinals.

The schedule for the tournament is broken down as follows:

Stage group: February 7–20
Super 8: February 21–March 1
March 4 and 5 are the semifinals.
Final: March 8

Venues

The competition will take place at three stadiums in Sri Lanka and five in India.

The ICC has confirmed the locations for every match, with the exception of one semifinal and the final.

If India qualify for the semifinals, they would play in the second one at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Pakistan will play on March 4 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo if they advance to the round of four.
